We at Vijayaa Steels believe that superior raw material is essential to make steel that Is reliable, consistent in quality and strong enough to last a lifetime. That is why we begin our steel manufacturing process by producing only high quality sponge at our fully automated outlet in Bangalore, India.
The billets at Vijayaa Steels begins its life as pig iron, sponge iron or imported scrap. After assorting these raw materials according to quality, these raw materials are put into an induction furnace where they are heated until they turn into molten metal. Once this process is over, sampling of the molten metal is carried out in a spectrometer. On achieving the desired chemistry this metal is poured into a large ladle where it is subjected to continues purging.
This ladle is shifted to a ladle furnace for further refining where alloys are added and the desired grade of metal is achieved. This ladle is then shifted to a caster machine where the billets are cast according to the requirement of our rolling mill or customer ranging from sizes 100mm2 to 200mm2. We also cast rectangles ranging from 170x240 mm2 as a special order. When the billets are cooled they are, once again, tested for quality. Our rigid quality standards permit only the best to make their way to the Rolling Mill or the customers.
Vijayaa Steels TMT bars are better known for its superior weldability, strength, ductility and corrosion resistance. These metal steel bars are mechanically treated, high strength steel with the most durable structural properties. Every TMT bar produced passes through a series of rigorous tests and quality checks. Some of these include processes called “Quenching” then “Self Tempering” and finally “Atmosphere Cooling” to verify its structural integrity and metallurgical properties. These tests ensure that we not only meet ISI standards, we exceed them.
