Our story begins with a simple bucket.

Way back in 1938, brass buckets were used to store and carry water in households across the country. These were terribly heavy and needed to be scrubbed vigorously on a daily basis to prevent tarnish and toxic deposits.

When the first steel buckets appeared in the market, they became instant objects of desire – they were sturdy yet lightweight and required no maintenance. Not only did they look better and shinier but one could also use them safely to serve water and food from. Using steel buckets was considered somewhat of a luxury as they were far more expensive than the ordinary brass ones as the manufacture of steel at that time was an expensive process.

Then came along the Tulsyan Group of companies who started importing machinery that made it possible to manufacture steel buckets in large quantities. This made them more affordable and accessible to households across India . They came up with two brands - Eagle for the Rural Markets and TU for the Urban ones. Soon steel buckets became more of a necessity than a luxury.

We are pleased to think that we played a significant role in making this happen.

In 1991, the Tulsyan Group acquired Vijayaa Steels and since then, there has been no looking back.
